JUNE together with our wonderful weather, so far has bought 2 coaches for a fabric fix to Butterfly Quilters on an arranged shop hop, and yesterday 2 fellow quilters from America who where in Cornwall on holiday paid me a surprise visit which was lovely.
I have decided to retire from doing the longarm service and I will not be accepting any more quilts for quilting. . I have enjoyed the many years I have had the priviledge of quilting so many wonderful quilts and meeting some truly inspiring and gifted quilters. Please keep watching this space for details in the coming months for details of a replacement longarm quilter.
I am hoping to use the free time to indulge myself in creating some new patterns and finishing of my
I will still be selling fabric but would suggest you contact me first either by phone or e-mail to make sure I am here.
Today I have been for a walk down the country lanes near my house and have been truly inspired with the wild flowers and buttercups and daisies. The Hollyhocks were all standing tall and proud and in my mind the seeds have been sewn for two new quilt designs inspired by the abundance of wild flowers.
Elderflowers are now ripe for picking and I am going to do some elderflower champagne tomorrow.
I am so excited as we are now stocking some of Pat Bravo's fantastic fabrics and patterns the vibrant colours and the quality of the fabric with it's high thread count is a joy to work with.
I have had great fun using fabric from her Dreaming in French Collection to make a quilt top using my 5 x 5 pattern design. I used a lime green thread to quilt Petaline design by Hermoine Agee on my longarm which shows up really well on the purple backing.
Pictured below is a Free Pattern by Pat Bravo called Orchestra a copy of which is included with the purchase of the quilt kit.
Pat's design is a wonderful showcase for her

My inspiration for this quilt was a visit to the wonderful gardens at Docton Mill, Hartland, Devon. Whilst having a superb lunch there I decided I would go back home and design a quilt and below is the result. My dear friend Mary Williams helped me, and kept me on track. The quilt has been made-up three times two with a black background, one of which Mary hand appliqued with button hole stitch. The other quilt with the pale background was machined.
